That breathless sense of not knowing how your student is really doing, worrying, family transitions, new communication patterns, wanting the best, wondering how to effectively guide, and how to step in and out of your student’s development during the college years – this is parenting a college student!
Deep down we know the consequences of denying our children opportunities to move toward greater independence, and we also know that when they falter there can be a lot at stake.
As a parent coach, I am interested in guiding, supporting, and providing you with strategies to help you as your student experiences a myriad of challenges duing the pre-college and college years.
My guiding philosophies are:
- we parent better when we anticipate challenges and think through options;
- there are many approaches that can lead to desired results;
- when we change things, even a little bit, we get different outcomes;
- when something bothers us we must examine our role in it.
I would enjoy partnering with you on your parenting journey.
